Stephen J Rivele Views
I would assume it would get the same treatment as the Notorious movie that came out at the very beginning of 2009 and it could, potentially, start filming in November. Oscar-nominated screenwriters Stephen J. Rivele and Chris Wilkinson (Ali, Nixon) have just been hired to write the Tupac Shakur biopic and it will be directed by Antoine Fuqua. Here is some info on the plot:
SGT. JOHN R. BAKER is an 18-year veteran of the Compton Police Department. He lives in Las Vegas, NV.STEPHEN J. RIVELE is the Academy Award-nominated screenwriter of Oliver Stone ’s Nixon, and of Will Smitho’s Ali. Rivele is also the author of eight previous books. He lives in Pasadena, CA.
Morgan Creek quotes Tupacs’s mother Afeni Shakur-Davis as giving her blessing to the film, which will be distributed by Universal Pictures in North America. The screenplay was written by Steve Bagatourian (American Gun), and the writing team of Stephen J. Rivele and Christopher Wilkinson (Nixon, Ali, Moneyball). Read the full press release after the jump.
