While shopping at my local health food store last weekend, I found a new gluten-free cracker. At least, it was new to me. The store has had a rice cracker from Back to Nature on the shelf for a while now, but I’d not seen the Multi-Seed gluten-free crackers before. On the front of the box are both the Whole Grain council label and the GFCO gluten-free symbol.

The Multi-Seed gluten-free cracker from Back to Nature is not one I’d use as a plain cracker, but most other crackers aren’t either. For the first taste, I did eat one cracker with nothing on it and it was surprisingly good that way. However, the crackers were really good with Brie cheese, Peachtree Pimento spread and cream cheese spread on them (not all at once).

Back to Nature has been in business for 50 years and I think their company slogan is terrific – r“Simple Ingredients. Simply Delicious. Simply Good.”. The boxes used by the company are made from recycled paperboard and the inks used to print the boxes are derived from vegetables. Back to Nature is a proud supporter of The Nature Conservancy as well.

It’s rare for me to find a product with flax in it that I like. Though I know how healthy flax is – I can’t will myself to like the flavor of it. The Multi-Seed crackers do have a very slight taste of flax, but the sesame seeds e– or something else t– overwhelms it. The overall flavor of the crackers is really nice and not comparable to other gluten-free crackers I’ve tried. Even though the crackers taste different than Nut Thins do, the texture is very similar. The Back to Nature crackers are thicker than Nut Thins and are square shaped, making them heftier crackers as well.
