This is one sweet looking dive watch from JeanRichard.  JeanRichard is actually part of the Sowind Group, which is better known for its ownership of Girard-Perregaux.   The Obvious distinguishing feature of the new JeanRichard Diverscope Titanium is its sand-blasted titanium case.  The tonneau shaped case with round bezel is a signature of the Diverscope line.  Man does it look good, Ii’ll bet that this watchS’s light weight defies its capability and value!

Jean Richard has created a new version of their Diverscope watch, the JR1000 Goldwaters. The case is 43 x 43mm and 13.5mm tall. It is made of stainless steel that has been coated in vulcanized rubber. The crown-shields and caseback are made of PVD coated titanium. The dual screw-down crowns are 18k pink gold. The sapphire is convex and with an anti-reflective treatment. The caseback is secured with 4 screws. Water-resistance is 300 meters.

Now this is a nice diving watch. I find it refreshing to see a simple and straight forward design execution such as this. What else would you expect from JeanRichard, Girard Perregaux's baby brand? The Diverscope JR1000 watch has the sensibility of somewhere between a Rolex Submariner and a Blancpain Fifty Fathoms. The design is not quite as refined as those two, but the look is really fantastic and the straight-forwardness of the design is appealing and welcome. The Diverscope is watch from the 1960's and here is a modern rendition of the look. Me liking it, as well as the other aforementioned diving watches probably means I like retro design better than moderns design! But hey, a lot of modern diver's watches are way to cluttered and noisy. Too much going on is distracting and will prevent a watch from being a favored daily wear.

While not a wildly complex new complication, there is a sort of smile inducing that's cool sentiment about the linear power reserve (LPR) indicator built into the 12 o'clock hour indicator of this new for 2011 JeanRichard Diverscope watch. I don't have a ton of information about the watch, but I did get a nice hands-on session with it thanks to JeanRichard. This is one of the coolest Diverscope models to come out.
