The fluid pressure is provided by an airless pump, which allows much heavier materials to be sprayed than is possible with an airspray gun. Compressed air is introduced into the spray from an airless tip (nozzle)to improve the fineness of atomisation. Some electric airless sprayers are fitted with a compressor to allow the use of an air assisted airless gun in situations where portability is important.

I want to get a spray gun but I am not sure which to get. If I go with air I would get the type with the seperate paint canister not the type with the canister on the gun. I already have a nice air compresser so that part would be takin care of. Does any one have experince with both of these type sprayers air and electric? I was at lowes the other day and almost bought an electric one. I think it was called the paint crew it was just under 200.00 Any one got any good tip's? Thank's in advance Doug

Electric spray guns are good for quick and easy paint jobs, but they will only perform well if properly maintained. Paint build-up in the gun's paint container can contaminate future paint jobs by discoloring the new paint. Debris built up in the suction tube or filter will reduce performance. The method for disassembling your electric spray gun will depend on the model you have, but you can refer to your product's manual if you can't locate the parts that need to be cleaned.

The description stated the it will do a decent job with latex and stains. Reading the instructions, it state it also could do oil base paints........if it passes the viscosity test! I just got done doing a 40 X 10 porch deck. Took my son a half a day to lay down a primer with a paint gun. Took me just under 20 minutes to lay down the paint with the Electric Spray Gun. Definite had to use a good deal of paint thinner to get it to the consistency which was required... but the spray tip was really awesome on atomizing the paint and laying it down fairly evenly. Goodness know if we did the same with the primer. The deck looks awesome...like the surface of a lake with no breeze. This is a great gun for the price.....INext project is staining my deck that wraps around to the back of the house.
