Josh The Funky 1 hails from Chicago, USA the home of House Music. As a DJ, producer, remixer, radio/podcast host and founder of the label Funktion Recordings, he’s firmly etched his way into the fabric of Dance music culture. Recently being hailed as “one to watch”in Mixmag magazine (UK) the world has begun taking notice of one of North Americas finest exports.
Now in 2009, he plans to further increase his output of original material/remixes along with several collaborations in the works. With Mixmag magazine (UK) touting him in the press and having already toured through the UK, Germany, North America, what can we can expect next from Josh The Funky 1 ? “My goal is simple ......to reach as many people as possible!”
In 2001 Josh took his DJ skills to a wider audience, hitting the airwaves as a weekly resident on 96.3 FM (B96) Chicagoz’s longest running mixshow to date. Aside from radio and competing, Josh has also helped to coproduce legendary D.J., Bad Boy Billo’s, r‘Bangin the Box Vol. 4;′ and r‘Banging in London)’ series. With his experience and persistence Josh has since gone on to compile several of his own mix compilations including his most recent venture, D‘Universal SoundP’, released on the prestigious System Recordings, home to DJs such as Junior Sanchez, Richard Vission, p& Danny Tenaglia.
