Pitch Black Cymbal Views
Pitch Black cymbals were specifically designed to be coated and played loud! Zildjian started with high-performance Bronze 12 alloy with its enhanced tin content, then added weights, sizes, and profiles guaranteed to deliver the brightness and presence required for rock applications. Zildjian has developed a proprietary coating process that makes the cymbal durable and strikingly beautiful yet still able to open up like a cymbal should. This Pitch Black Cymbal Box Set includes an 18 Crash, 22 Ride, and 15 Mastersound Hi-Hats. These cymbals are unlike anything you or your fans have ever heard or seen before. The only way Zildjian could make these any more rock would be to put leather pants on them.
Now about the sound: I played these and the very first impression from the first sound I heard was, they're horrible. They sound like Zildjian ZBT's which sound like trash can lids being hit with a pipe. I'm not exaggerating. I really wanted to like these cymbals, but they sound absolutely terrible. Even the guy that works at the store, who works on commission, recommended AGAINST them. Do not buy these based on looks from the pics, go see and play them yourself. Hit these, then go hit another Zildjian like an A Custom or try a Sabian AAXplosion series cymbal, Pitch Black doesn't compare.Bottom line, they're VERY low end. Overall

“Utilizing a proprietary coating process, all Pitch Black™ cymbals are made from Zildjian6’s high performance Bronze 12 Alloy which features enhanced tin content for a richer sound. The coating process allows the cymbals to be durable and visually striking while still opening up as a cymbal should. Heavier weights and large sizes combined with new profiles, cups, lathing and hammering techniques help to deliver the brightness and presence required for Rock and Metal applications.n”
