Brown And Blue Decor Views
Brown and blue seems to be a color combination that can appease all members of your household. While masculine in theory, using the right hues and perfect accents can create something much more from crisp modern spaces with chocolate browns and teals to country comfort with lots of wood and pale blues.
I really like this color combination, but I am wondering what other colors could mix well with it. My bed has a duvet cover which is light blue and dark brown (exact same as the geomerti, and all my furniture is very dark wood tone from Ikea. I'm struggling with an appropriate paint color for the wall as well as some accent colors (wall art, etc). Anyone have any advice? It seems like a nice muted green might work, but I am reticent to paint my walls green.
Scoot--I'm never a fan of green bedrooms, in all but the rarest of occasions.I'd side with tequila red (the poster, not the color!) and do a paler version of the blue in the bedspread.... or match it exactly.If you have a small room, it's mostly a night-time abode, and you aren't afraid of a little drama, do the same with the brown of the bedspread. It will make your dark furniture disappear. Then you can also introduce white elements (like lamps or frames).I really like bedrooms with a limited color palette. I think they are more restful, so I'd just keep working with duplicates or variations of colors you already have and limit accent colors to other rooms.
Thanks patrick and tequila. Making the walls brown is an interesting idea, and I think orange accents will add a bit of punch to the room. What do you think about a lighter pale brown, almost like a cappaccino color on the walls. I think that will pick up the dark browns in the furniture and the spread, and also goes well with the blue on the spread. Unfortunately my bedroom IS small, but it is also my workspace (I do not work from home, but spend a lot of time on the computer as I do some freelance photography), so it needs to be restful, but not too restful!!I was trying to do pale blue walls in the bathroom and stick to a non-blue color in the bedroom.
