Stella Artois Poster Views
Stella Artois are running a contest across Canada with a QR Coded poster campaign (image below). The QR Code resolves to a mobile site where entrants can win a unique experience at a film festival, including the Toronto International Film Festival, the Vancouver International Film Festival, the Calgary International Film Festival and the Atlantic Film Festival. The experience includes meeting up with a film industry insider, attending a festival screening and VIP access to an exclusive party.
...well it does make for some cool posters. The new Stella Artois posters planted in and around Londonl’s underground were designed by Minneapolis design duo Aesthetic Apparatus, who are responsible for rock posters for uber cool bands such as Gomez, Babyshambles and Mogwai - The campaign was conceived by Lowe London and is the first time Aesthetic Apparatus have worked on an advertising campaign in the UK. Stella Artois continues its movie-related Smooth Originals promotion for the 4% range of beers with c“La Nouvellec”, a set of posters designed by Robert McGinnis. (See my earlier post on the Smooth Originals campaign). McGinnis, an American illustrator, is known for his paperback covers from the 1960s as well as work on classic posters for films including Breakfast at Tiffany

In fact, we had been referencing his posters when we started looking for illustrators, but we thought he was retired. Eventually we thought a‘what if we try it? ’, and we decided to give him a call. Like we expected, he was retired, but to our suprise he told us he was willing to come out of retirement to do this project.r”
