I’m delighted to have this opportunity to share my love of handcrafted paper jewelry. I discovered paper filigree, also known as quilling, several years ago and I’ve been hooked ever since. Quilling has been in existence for hundreds of years and I’m happy to be a part of keeping the art alive by bringing a fresh, modern approach to traditional quillwork. I hope you’ll enjoy making these necklace pendants. Theyn’re comfortable to wear and surprisingly sturdy, as well as great conversation starters. People won’t believe they’re made of paper! Sterling silver filigree rings and pendantsTwo gorgeous silver filigree rings that caught my eye on Amazon just happen to have the same design: a butterfly.  Or you can go for Gem Avenue's abstract floral filigree ring, which is a great budget choice.  And why not set off the butterfly ring with a similar (though not exactly matching) filigree butterfly pendant?  I was also very taken with Sabrina Silver's guitar pendant, which measures nearly 1.75 inches tall and would be an excellent gift for a music lover!

Is it filigree… or ajouré?A lot of the pieces of jewellery you see on sale that are described as filigree are actually not filigree at all, but so-called ajouré. While filigree is made from metal threads, ajouré pieces are made from single flat pieces of metal which are then stamped with holes. It's not surprising that people fail to make the distinction, since the most delicate pieces of ajouré work do often look very like filigree!In the capsule on the right you'll see some gorgeous silver rings/pendants, all of which are examples of ajouré work. All the rings have quite wide bands so you're recommended to go a size or half a size bigger than you normally take in rings, to ensure the best fit!

Long gold filigree pendants and pearls necklace is spectacular. Beautiful gold plated circle pendants have gorgeous filigree designs.
