Roughnecks: Starship Troopers Chronicles was a CGI animated television series based on both the novel by Robert A. Heinlein and the 1997 film adaptation directed by Paul Verhoeven (who served as executive producer for the series). It follows the exploits of the Mobile Infantry squad Razak's Roughnecks during the SICON–Bugs War, between a newly united humanity and an extraterrestrial race, the Bugs (also sometimes referred to as Arachnids, although this is a misnomer, as the aliens are not related to Earth arachnids). The show focuses mainly on the missions in which the squad participates, rather than addressing the larger war.
All the DVDs were re-released as a 4-disc Roughnecks: Starship Troopers Chronicles – The Complete Campaigns box set, which consists of stripped down versions of the individual DVD releases, removing the cast and crew commentaries (and in the UK edition the Tesca Campaign is listed as volume 2, instead of volume 4 as it should be).

Robert A. Heinlein's story of young Earth soldiers battling giant insect warriors from other worlds was expanded into an animated television series, Roughnecks: Starship Troopers Chronicles, and this special DVD set collects the entire run of the show on disc. The material on Roughnecks: The Starship Troopers Chronicles -- The Complete Campaigns has been transferred to disc in the full-frame aspect ratio of 1.33:1, and the audio has been mastered in Dolby Digital 5.1. The dialogue is in English, with no multiple language options, though the episodes have been closed captioned in English.
